Godsmack & Staind

The Review

St.Joseph's Lakeview Amp in Syracuse, NY was the place to be on Thursday, 8/3/23. Staind opened the show for Godsmack in the dual headlining tour. Godsmack formed in 1995, and things are beginning to slow down a bit for the band.

Sully Erna, the lead singer, says it's time to start doing other things. Not gonna retire, but won't be going back to the studio. Godsmack is known for their hard-hitting sound; they have achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim throughout their career.

They have released several successful albums, including their self-titled debut album “Godsmack” in 1998, which featured hit songs such as “Whatever” and “Voodoo.” Their discography also includes other popular tracks like “I Stand Alone,” “Awake,” and “Bulletproof.” The show in Syracuse was jam-packed with fans who traveled from near and far to hear many of their favorite tunes. A hot & humid summer night will be one to remember for a long time. The stage was even hotter with the blast of flames from the work of the pyro team.

Staind is from Springfield, Massachusetts. Formed in 1995. Staind gained popularity in the late 1990s with their breakthrough album, “Dysfunction” (1999), which featured the hit single “Mudshovel.” They continued to release successful albums, including “Break the Cycle” (2001) and “14 Shades of Grey” (2003), which spawned hits like “It's Been Awhile,” “Outside,” and “So Far Away.”

Aaron Lewis states to the crowd that you're probably wondering why I'm so quiet tonight. He paused and said that's cause everytime I open my mouth, I get in trouble. Usually, he's a man of many words; if you know “Lewis,” he speaks his mind and lets you know just what he's thinking. Both bands put on such a great show. It was my first time seeing them live, and I would love to do it again.
