Wow what a concert. Opening the show Caroline Bergan. The voice she has and her stage presence is something that the people in the crowd will remember for a long time. She’s headed places and will be on the bigger stages in no time at all. Right here from NY and no stranger to Parmalee but never thought she would open a show for them. Caroline also has a major in music, she has been teaching music class. No stranger to Kegs stage Logan Michael, he loves writing & singing sad break up songs.”Whiskey Serenade” just released not long ago is a popular song already. Even a fan at the show had designed a shirt with the song on it. Logan told him he wanted it and in fact it was given to him. But boy does he do it well, his energy and the way he works the stage makes you wondering what he will do next. Brian Michael & Logan these guys are forces to be remembered for a long time. Brian Michael, takes the stage to keep the crowd pumped and ready for what’s to come. Has no trouble keeping people singing along and certainly drinking some cold ones. It might have been a cold March night but things warmed up quickly with all the dancing and people packing up close to the stage. Michael’s also nearly from the “backdoor” at Kegs just down the road in Syracuse NY will be back to entertain the crowd again i’m sure. Certainly is another face in country music that will be making his way up through to bigger and better stages for many years to come.

PARMALEE has been to Kegs Canal Side a few times now and the photographs hanging behind the bar proves it. These guys are so down to earth, if you haven’t seen them in person your missing out. Three times photographing them and it never gets old. I would do it all over again tomorrow if possible. Tearing up the stage, and keeping everyone singing along. Bass player Barry loves to keep you on your toes, never know when he might throw a guitar pick your way. The band consisting of brothers Matt Thomas (lead vocals, guitar) and Scott Thomas (drums), along with their cousin Barry Knox (bass) and Josh McSwain (guitar), who is a best friend since childhood. These guys have been together 20 years, one of their first singles was “musta had a good time” in 2012 and “Carolina” the first big hit 2013 that really placed them on the map. Matt Thomas also states the band name is named after where they lived in North Carolina but the “catch” is it’s spelled Parmele. Changing it to the current spelling Parmalee is to make sure it’s pronounced easier. He chuckles and says nobody would get it right if it wasn’t changed. It’s doing well and has stuck so it’s what it will be now after all these years. Parmalee being the guys that they’re always meet with fans after the show and takes photos and sign stuff. Even tipped back a few shots after the venue emptied out before heading back to the bus for a long ride back to Nashville. (Written By: R. Johnston) Click HERE to see additional photos from the show.
